eucen announces a change in the position of Secretary General.

During the Steering Committee meeting held in Barcelona on Friday, 27 February, the Committee approved the appointment of Tamer Atabarut as the new Secretary General of eucen.

Dr. Atabarut, a member of the eucen Steering Committee and affiliated with Boğaziçi University, has been actively involved in the development of university lifelong learning and continuing education initiatives. He is also currently one of the two official eucen representatives in the VET4EU2 experts group in Brussels, working with the European Commission DG Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion on matters related to skills, vocational education and training, as expert on university lifelong learning and H-VET.

In his new role as Secretary General, he will support the work of the Steering Committee and contribute to advancing eucen’s mission of strengthening lifelong learning in higher education across Europe.

He succeeds Katrin Männik, who has served eucen with dedication and commitment. The association warmly thanks her for her valuable contribution to eucen and for the important work carried out during her time as Secretary General.

eucen looks forward to continuing its activities with the support of the Steering Committee and its new Secretary General, further strengthening collaboration among universities and partners engaged in lifelong learning.
