Basic skills training is often overlooked, which is why the European Basic Skills Network (EBSN) is focused on ensuring a common level of minimum skills across Europe for people to access lifelong learning, thereby ensuring their employability and active citizenship.

As part of this vision, EBSN, together with six European partners, has developed a Professional Development Series (PDS), an innovative pedagogical approach to the training of adult basic skills teachers. You can read more about the EBSN Professional Development Series project here.

The PDS training format offers six MOOCs with OERs that are easily accessible and self-paced, covering the following topics: Approaching Digital Teaching & Learning, Basic Literacy, Empowering Adult Learners of Basic Skills, Diversity & Interculturalism, Digital Basic Skills Programs for Adults and Facilitating the Learning Process. Click on each theme to watch an informative video!

Specifically, Mooc 6: Facilitating the Learning Process, developed by the University of Pécs and South East Technological University, has been specifically designed to provide support for the professional development of skills in facilitating, designing and evaluating the learning process of basic skills learners. It includes important aspects and international dimensions related to SDG4, CONFINTEA-MFA and NEAAL.

In addition, micro-credentials will be awarded upon completion of the courses, find out more about the benefits of micro-credentials with this video!
