The eucen Solidarity Fund is an initiative created to support higher education institutions and organisations facing structural, economic, or contextual challenges that may limit their capacity to engage fully in the eucen network. Through this initiative, eucen seeks to promote solidarity, inclusiveness, and equitable participation among its members and partners.
The Fund provides financial support to selected institutions in order to facilitate their active involvement in eucen activities, strengthen collaboration within the network, and encourage the development of continuing and lifelong learning initiatives in diverse contexts.
Each year, a minimum of four institutions will be selected as beneficiaries following an open call for nominations and evaluation by eucen, and formally announced in the eucen Annual Conference.
The Solidarity Fund is governed by a formal framework that defines its objectives, eligibility criteria, and selection procedures. The Protocol is now available. Read it to learn more about the structure and operation of the initiative.
While the protocol has been formally adopted and published, the implementation of the programme will begin in June 2026, during the 56th eucen Annual Conference.
The Solidarity Fund will operate through an annual Call for Candidates, ensuring an open, transparent, and fair selection process. The Call for the 2027 edition will be launched in June 2026, opening the first full application cycle under the new framework.
Note: As part of the programme’s establishment phase and celebrating eucen’s 35 year anniversary, the 2026 beneficiaries will be selected directly by the eucen Steering Committee. From 2027 onwards, beneficiaries will be chosen through the public annual open call procedure.
