The Food Includes project recently hosted seven Orientation Days, engaging 70 adult educators and training staff to introduce the Food Includes project and the Food as a Seeking Pedagogy Starter Kit. These events aimed to build awareness, deepen knowledge, and inspire educators to make use of food-based education as a tool for fostering social inclusion among marginalized adults.
Participants explored how food-based learning can serve as a universal, relatable medium, breaking down cultural barriers and fostering inclusive engagement. One of the key themes of the discussions was the importance of tailored educational programs. The approach emphasized meeting the unique needs of diverse populations, including migrants, individuals with disabilities, and adults from various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
