To encourage the involvement of international stakeholders and disseminate project outcomes, the Democrat project featured 15 Democracy Talks in 2024 and will continue with further international expert dialogues in 2025. These online sessions bring together international EfD academic experts to share their knowledge and gain insights into their expertise.
In 2024, the Democracy Talks invited university partners from the Democrat project to discuss insights from their respective countries. These sessions also featured international experts, including Katarina Popović from Serbia, Secretary General of the International Council for Adult Education, and Valeria Damiani from Italy, Convener of the Research on Citizenship Education network. Their contributions enriched the dialogue, providing diverse perspectives on education for democracy and citizenship.
Looking ahead to 2025, the Democracy Talks will continue. Guests will include Ingeborg Breines, an international expert in education for peace, global citizenship, and democracy, and Timothy Murphy from the University of Limerick, who will present on pedagogical thoughtfulness for democracy. These discussions aim to deepen the project’s impact and foster meaningful international collaboration. Our first session in 2025 will take place on 15 January at 15:00 CET and will be streamed live on YouTube.
