The 55th eucen Conference, held in Lille (France) from 4 to 6 June 2025, brought together a vibrant community of around 150 participants representing nearly 30 different countries. The event offered a rich and diverse programme that included interactive workshops, insightful presentations, and dynamic discussions. Participants expressed great appreciation for the high quality of the content and the engaging format of the sessions, which reflected the depth and innovation of work being done in University Lifelong Learning across Europe and beyond.
Over the course of three intense and stimulating days, the conference provided an excellent platform for sharing knowledge, exchanging experiences, and building meaningful connections. The networking opportunities were abundant, enabling participants to explore potential collaborations and identify promising avenues for future joint activities and projects. The atmosphere was both collegial and inspiring, reinforcing the strength and relevance of the eucen network.
A key moment during the event was the General Assembly of members, where important developments and strategic priorities for the association were addressed. Members engaged in fruitful discussions that highlighted both current achievements and future directions for eucen’s work.
We were especially honoured to be joined by eucen’s former President, Michel Feutrie, who attended the entire conference and contributed his valuable insights. His presence was warmly welcomed and served as a reminder of the association’s long-standing commitment to lifelong learning and European cooperation.
As we reflect on the success of Lille 2025, it is already time to look ahead. Mark your calendars: the 56th eucen Conference will take place in Cagliari, Italy, from 3 – 5 June 2026. We look forward to welcoming you there for another enriching and inspiring gathering!
