eucen has recently tested (before formally launching) its Peer Exchange and Support Visits with a two-day visit to The University of Manchester, marking an important step in a new initiative designed to foster mutual learning, collaboration and the exchange of innovative practice among member universities.

The visit brought together colleagues to explore how universities can strengthen their lifelong learning mission through partnerships, innovation and community engagement. Discussions focused on key topics including micro-credential design, collaborative course development, Manchester’s Digital Skills Framework and the University’s role as a Learning Partner for Life.

Participants also learned about Manchester’s work as a UNESCO Learning City, reflecting on how universities can contribute to inclusive skills ecosystems by working closely with civic, industry and international partners. The visit provided an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas on the future development of the eucen University UNESCO Learning City Network, with particular attention to demonstrating the impact that universities can have within Learning Cities.

Beyond sharing innovative practices, the visit embodied the spirit of the new Peer Exchange and Support Visits: creating a trusted space where member institutions can learn from one another, discuss common challenges and identify opportunities for future collaboration.
