On 30 June 2026, eucen took part to the second Transnational Project Meeting of the Erasmus+ project VISUALITY in Drumshanbo, County Leitrim (Ireland).

Hosted by Momentum Educate + Innovate, the meeting brought together representatives from all partner organisations to review progress and prepare for the next stage of the project.

The meeting centred on the findings of the research conducted during Work Package 2. Over recent months, partners have engaged with higher education staff and students through interviews, surveys and focus groups to better understand current teaching practices, the challenges educators and learners experience, and the potential of visual pedagogy to enhance learning.

The discussions confirmed that, while visual elements are increasingly present in higher education, there is a clear need for more structured and intentional approaches to using visual pedagogy. Participants highlighted the importance of equipping educators with practical methods that go beyond simply adding images to teaching materials. Instead, visual pedagogy should support active learning, foster student engagement, improve accessibility, and contribute to more inclusive learning environments for diverse student populations.

Building on these research findings, the partnership also laid the foundations for the next phase of the project. The upcoming work will translate the evidence gathered into practical strategies, educational resources and guidance that will support higher education and adult educators in adopting more effective visual teaching approaches. The aim is to help educators move beyond traditional, text-heavy teaching methods towards student-centred practices that promote participation, understanding and inclusion.

Bringing together expertise from different countries and institutional contexts continues to be one of the project’s greatest strengths, ensuring that the resources developed will respond to the diverse realities of higher education across Europe.

As VISUALITY moves into its next phase, the consortium looks forward to sharing new tools and resources with the wider higher education community.
