During the EUCEN Conference in Cagliari on 5 June 2026, the three winning universities featured in the SAMUELE Compendium of Case Studies presented their exemplary University Lifelong Learning (ULLL) initiatives and were officially recognised with the SAMUELE ULLL Award 2026.

The award celebrates exemplary practices that demonstrate innovation, impact, and a strong institutional commitment to lifelong learning. The winning case studies showcase how universities can effectively respond to the evolving needs of learners, communities, and society through inclusive and forward-looking ULLL strategies.

We are delighted to congratulate the award recipients:

🏆 De Montfort University (United Kingdom)
🏆 University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland – SUPSI (Switzerland)

Their case studies highlight inspiring approaches to lifelong learning and underline the important role that higher education institutions play in fostering personal development, employability, social inclusion, and active citizenship throughout life.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to all participating universities for their valuable contributions to the SAMUELE Compendium of Case Studies. The high quality of the submissions reflects the diversity, creativity, and commitment of universities across Europe in advancing lifelong learning. By sharing their experiences and good practices, participating institutions have helped create a rich resource that will support peer learning and inspire future developments in the field of ULLL.
